TAN President/CEO Speaks at the Launching of the Kenneth Kaunda Foundation

Brief description

The Monterey Bay International Association (MBITA) will host its AGOA trade and investment opportunities conference next Friday, 27 February, 2009. AGOA stands for Africa Growth and Opportunity Act. This was signed into law in 2000. This act aims to provide tangible incentives for American companies to conduct bilateral trade and investment with African countries. In these days of global economic problems, this opens up the economies of these countries in Africa for opportunities.

TAN is an affiliate sponsor of this conference because it is in line with TAN's global mission of not only fostering entrepreneurship, but promoting trade and investment opportunities that will provide jobs on the continent, thereby reducing poverty. Some TAN members, who are entrepreneurs, will be speaking at this event. In addition, South African Economic Minister at the USA Embassy will be one of the panelists. We would recommend that you attend this event, if your time permits.

Hazel Gachoka, TAN Membership Director, will represent TAN officially at this event. Please be on the look-out for Hazel and TAN's booth if you attend. Other TAN executives will also be in attendance.
